Besides BF3, some of us have been playing the new MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic, which was released a month ago. In essence, it is both a sequel to the epic Knights of the Old Republic games and an online version of them. While exploring the Star Wars galaxy as your character (Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular, Trooper, Smuggler, or their Sith Empire equivalents) you play solo quests and group quests on planets like Tatooine and Coruscant or embark on group adventures from the fleet. You even get your own ship and can customize everything from armor to lightsabers and blasters. For first-time MMO players it is fairly easy to get into and a really fun game. We have made a TPR Guild on the Republic side on the DUNE BANTHA server.

After analyzing the data from our first round of closed Caspian Border tests, we have great news for participants in the Battlefield 3 PC Open Beta: the DICE team has decided to bring back Caspian Border for the beta’s final weekend and conduct an open large scale test of the 64 player Caspian Border map.

*****Please keep in mind that as this is beta we will be stress testing our servers***** As such, users may experience crashes, network instability and outages as we roll out and configure servers and network utilities. Understand that such potential issues and the testing environment are not reflective or indicative of the final product and that, through your participation, you will be helping to ensure future stability and functionality.

As we are again specifically testing 64-player server configurations, this test will be for PC only. The Caspian Border servers will be available for all PC players to join. Caspian Border will be available starting Friday, October 7th, in the afternoon (CET).

The BF3 beta features the Rush map Operation Metro. Another map is being tested in several password protected servers. It is the conquest map Caspian Border which shows Battlefield 3's true power. Passwords are being leaked in the Battlelog and EA UK forums. We all hope that Caspian Border will become more widely available later in the BETA. The BF3 Beta runs till the October 10.
